Global Carbon ForumFinancing the low-carbon economy and saving the Amazon, Digital ConferenceJun 29 - 30, 2021
The Global Carbon Forum, in partnership with Moss, brings together thought leaders, key global business and financial players, senior government officials and local communities to discuss the solutions and investments that will deliver -at the right pace and scale- a net-zero, nature-positive economy for a more equitable and resilient society. Focus will be placed on the positive impact that investment strategies, financial instruments, carbon markets and technology can have as enablers of a sustainable and profitable Amazon.
The planet’s survival is intrinsically linked to preserving and valuing its natural resources and it is essential that we direct policies, enhance capacity building and steer financial flows at the scale needed, combining sustainability and economic development. Nowhere is the importance of immediate action more evident than in the Amazon, the world’s largest rainforest, threatened by deforestation. The Amazon plays a vital role in stabilising the Earth’s climate, protecting biodiversity and providing significant ecosystem services.

The speakers of the event include:-
-
Marina Grossi, President, Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS)

Building Sustainable Food Habits
Oct 29, 2020
Did you know that more than one third of all food grown is never eaten? But can we individually really make a difference or do we first need the commitment of businesses and organizations to lead the way? Two community & business leaders will share with us about the responsibilities they are taking to have a personal influence and impact. Michelin Star Chef René Mathieu, Best Chef 2020 for cooking vegetables, has been promoting for more than 16 years food habits which are in harmony with and respectful of nature. lana Devillers, founder of Food4All has been focusing on reducing food waste by connecting consumers and distributors to market the unsold products of the day via a free and user-friendly app. Her ambition is to make Food4All a commercial success but also to help change mentalities about the way we approach food shopping.
This webinar is organised with the National Alumni Association Luxembourg and the Community Impact Challenge.
